Veritable Riot - Pre-Prohibition style Pilsner
Lager - American Pre-Prohibition
Joyride Brewing
In the Spring of 1908, Edgewater became the first city in Colorado to vote themselves dry. The Colorado Transcript reports that the night before Prohibition went into effect a “veritable riot” occurred during the closing of the Golden Gate Saloon, including the severe beating of Edgewater Mayor C.E. Spicer. We brewed this beer to be similar to the type of Pilsners that were served that night, using 6-Row barley, rice, corn, German hops, and German yeast. Grainy with a hint of corn, and an earthy, herbal, and floral hop character.
